Fraudulent Employment Offers

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited has become aware of a series of fraudulent job offers that have been made by individuals, organizations, Internet sites, email accounts or social media accounts that claim that they are representing our company.

In some cases, job seekers have been requested to complete forms which ask them for personal information or to pay a processing or work permit fee in order to begin their job.

All of these offers are fake and do not originate from Agnico Eagle Mines Limited. They are recruitment scams. Agnico Eagle Mines Limited never seeks fees from job applicants under any circumstances.

Fraudulent job offers - how to tell whether your job offer is a scam

Here are several things that can help you determine whether the offer you have received is legitimate or whether it is a scam:

Did you apply for a job at Agnico Eagle Mines Limited through our careers website: www.agnicoeagle.com/English/careers/?

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited does not make unsolicited job offers, an application must have been completed through our website in advance of any offer being received.

Are you being asked to pay processing fees, travel fees, visa fees or make a payment of any other kind - even if they claim that you will be reimbursed?

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited never seeks fees from job applicants under any circumstances.

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited may engage staffing agencies to help us identify candidates for positions. Third parties representing Agnico Eagle Mines Limited in the recruitment process will never request any fees from job seekers.

Are they offering to arrange a visa? Agnico Eagle Mines Limited does not sponsor employment visas.

Does the email come from an “@AgnicoEagle.com” email address? Recruiting emails and online offers will come from “@AgnicoEagle.com”.

Note that even if the email address contains the words "Agnico Eagle" it may not be from Agnico Eagle Mines Limited. One example of a known fraudulent email address is: “@agnicoseagle.com”.

What to do if you are approached

Do not send any money or provide any personal information. Report the matter to your local law enforcement.
